Can't help with any photos but are C & F still holding the option to demolish Sunbury at Xaverian College?

In 1964, when the 6th Form moved to the new 6th Form block, certain people started to remove parts of the building, which everyone thought would be pulled down, as souvenirs.

Bro Cyril read the riot act and stated "When the building is to be demolished Connell and Finnigan will do a proper job".

44 years later the contract is still outstanding. If you want Bro Cyril's address in Boston, I have it!!

Best of luck in your search which may be helped by contacting the Evening News, the Local History Library, Associated Press and local newspapers in the towns concerned.

Hi Mike. Sorry, can't help, but a question: Are pictures of such demolitions taken as a matter of course? I would like to think they are, as it would seem a massive oversight to just pull down 'iconic' landmarks such as the Hulme crescents and Fort Ardwick without a permanent record.

I've been looking for some Fort Ardwick - demolition in process - pics for years - no luck as yet.
