Default Manchester, composite piccy

Driving down the Chester road into Manc yesterday, first time I have took this route in a long while, anyway, couldn't resist getting out and taking this pic.

The boarded up church is in fact the old PWL (Stock Aitken and Waterman) studios, closed a few years back now, and awaiting redevelopment. The tower looming over the church - and all of Manchester - is the Beetham tower,(or the 'Manchester Hilton') an amazing construction which is acually the tallest residential building in Europe!

In the foreground is the Castlefield basin, the birthplace of Manchester, some 1200+ years ago.

I kinda liked the composite, although I'm no photographer and the execution is a bit crappy.

PS - I posted these wordings and the pic on another site - I'm quite sure you guys on here are more than familiar with the buildings/location.

Default Explain how you created the composite

It's a competent picture, well-composed. It's generally better to have direct sunlight on architecture, but still the colours show through well.

Can you explain how you created the composite?

Hi Aidan, Maybe my terminology is wrong? What I meant by a 'compisite' is that it is taken from one place, and features multi striking themes, as opposed to say a picture of Beetham tower which is just one theme. I'm a layman!

I understand what you mean by composite and I think the photo works well. Beetham Tower is leaning a bit but can be straightened in Photoshop

Default Composite photo is made of more than one photo

For me, the term 'composite photo' refers to one made up of two or several photos merged together in Photoshop, for instance, my panorama of the Hacienda http://www.aidan.co.uk/data_sheetManHac99pan.jpg.htm which is made up of three overlapping photos.

Your photo is good. As Phil says, the barrel distortion caused by the camera lens can be corrected in Photoshop.
