Cadishead high level railway bridge once carried the LMS railway line from Stockport and Altrincham to Warrington over the Manchester Ship Canal. It was built in the early 1890's. This image was taken from the stern of the MV Royal Iris operating the Manchester Ship Canal Cruise. I am fascinated with the history and development of the Manchester Ship Canal as well as its appearance and physical forms, especially the bridges. On 16 Jan 04 I visited a marvellous exhibition about the Canal at Salford Museum.
