Manchester Rochdale Canal fog 1996 (bw)

The Rochdale Canal next to Whitworth Street Manchester, captured during foggy weather in November 1996.

This scene was transformed by the arrival of Deansgate Locks, a project which saw the old brick arches turned into cafe bars, and wooden boardwalks installed above the canal. It's an example of how we have become more distanced from the 'old' Manchester.
