Panoramic photo of the interior of Taal Volcano, which is filled by a lake of glassy green-coloured water. Onlly a couple of smoke plumes rise from the shore of this otherwise dormant volcano, situated on an island in the middle of the much larger lake Taal, 80km (50 miles) to the south of Manila. Guided by locals we were taken on a speedboat, then on horses, and
finally on
foot over very rough ground to this rocky shore in the mouth of the
volcano. I have removed the empty cans and other rubbish from the scene, which reminded
me of the
prints of Maxfield Parrish>.
