The affluent residential area of Hale lies to the south west of Manchester. It's said there are more estate agents in the main street than anywhere else in the North West. Hale's main features include the station with hourly trains to Manchester and Chester, the recently built clock tower, a choice of stylish wine bars, restaurants and shops, and lots of expensive cars, including the red 1950's Mercedes which is for sale.

I lived in Hale with my sister between 1981 and 1985, when I moved to a council flat in Salford. Situated on the fringe between the city and the country, Hale is full of leafy lanes with dream houses and gardens.
