Wide view of Liverpool on the other side of the River Mersey as seen from near railings on the promenade just north of the jetty at Woodside. The Cunard ship Caronia is being turned around by a tug on the river. All the main Liverpool landmarks are visible from the Liver Building on the left to the Anglican Cathedral on the right. Railings and views over water are a quintessential feature of many cities towns and resorts up and down the UK. Whenever I see seaside railings I always think of the 1980's song and video 'Wonderful Life' by Black, which captured a special atmosphere of England.
