The blue tourist sign on the corner of Deansgate and Blackfriars St with the towering glass form of No1 Deansgate rising up behind.
Number One Deansgate has become a symbol of the regeneration of the centre of Manchester following the IRA bomb of 1996, and is one of Manchester's most prestigious residential addresses. It was designed by Ian Simpson Architects, who also gave us Urbis and the Hilton Tower. Here is is juxtaposed against blue pedestrian signs pointing to nearby tourist attractions.
