Neon signs around the Augustusplatz in the centre
of Leipzig. Famous names include Coca Cola, Bosch, Commerzbank and Allianz. MDR is
Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, the regional public broadcasting service for this part of
Germany. The redevelopment of the Augustusplatz included a new 'Tiefgarage' or
underground car park. In GDR times none of these signs was here, and the square was
called Karl-Marx-Platz.
I had a few minutes to spare on the way back to
the hotel, and decided to zoom in on the neon signs around the
square.
