Merrion Square is a large rectangular park overlooked on three sides by elegant 18th century Georgian terraced houses. In the 1930 's there were plans to build a Roman Catholic cathedral on Merrion Square but they were never realised.

This is one of my archive slides taken in April 1981 while I was in my final year at Trinity College Dublin. In spring 2004 I am re-scanning the best of my archive images on film. Hope to re-take this scene soon but it won't have changed very much!
