Tenerife's highest mountain, Mount Teide with yellow wild flowers. Mount Teide is a dormant volcano and reaches to a height of 12,198 feet (3728 metres) above sea level. A cable car carries visitors almost to the top of the mountain, from which there are panoramic views over island and clouds below.
My trip up onto the 'roof' of the island, way above the clouds, was the highpoint of the press visit I went on in May 2005. I'll never forget the purity of the air, the beauty of the flowers and the majestic outline of Mount Teide. Highly recommended, and next time I hope to take the cable car.
