We are looking down the River Liffey from Grattan Bridge. Four bridges are visible: The Millennium Footbridge, the Ha'penny Bridge, O'Connell Bridge and the railway loop line bridge. The Millennium footbridge was opened in 2000 and was only the second pedestrian bridge to be built across the Liffey.

Compared to the Thames in London, the Liffey is on a much smaller and more human scale. You can, as I did, stroll up along the river crossing from one side to the other at each bridge.
