The Forth Railway and road bridges are seen from a distance of about 2 miles (3km) from Blackness Castle east of Edinburgh. The tide is out. In the mud a curving line of small black objects leads the eye towards the horizon. The Forth Railway Bridge was opened in 1890, the road bridge in 1964.

It's a spectacular sight to see the two bridges side by side, though it's difficult to 'visually disentangle' one from the other. An interesting exercise in digital image enhancement would be to remove the road bridge to gain a clear view of the rail bridge.
