The Lord Mayor of the City of Manchester on an official visit to the Victoria Baths, Chorlton-on-Medlock. Councillor Mohammed Afzal Khan was born in Pakistan and has lived in the UK since he was 12. As a Labour councillor, he has represented the Cheetham ward in north Manchester since 2000. He holds the ceremonial post of Lord Mayor of Manchester for the period 2005-2006.
Councillor Khan has a good sense of humour which he combines with the decorum required by the post.
