The GPO or General Post Office stands midway along O'Connell Street in the centre of Dublin. It was designed by Francis Johnston and completed in 1814. The building has symbolic and historical significance as it was an important scene of action in the 1916 Irish Uprising. The set constructed for the film 'Michael Collins' included a mock-up of the GPO.
