A wet wintry night on Trafford Swing Bridge, looking into Salford from Old Trafford. The pavement (sidewalk) was removed when a new bridge was built alongside this one, allowing two lanes carrying northbound traffic on this side, and three lanes southbound on the other. The new bridge prevented Trafford Road Bridge from ever opening again.

This is one of the few images I have of Manchester in the 80s. It captures the feeling of a cold drizzly evening in Manchester, something I missed terribly during my five years in the Middle East.
