The Cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral, with their vaulted ceilings and intricate stone carvings are the most impressive of any in the UK. Once used by monks at prayer, they recently featured in the film 'Harry Potter'.

You can almost sense the presence of the medieval monks at prayer in the recesses. Most of what we see here is virtually unchanged since the Middle Ages.
