Menlove Avenue L25 street sign. This is the street sign sign 200 yards away from one of Liverpool's most famous addresses: 'Mendips' number 251 Menlove Avenue, home of John Lennon from 1945 until 1963. The name 'Menlove' has a curious ring to it, rather like 'Strangelove' in the film by Stanley Kubrick. Menlove Avenue is a long, very attractive avenue in suburban south Liverpool. I'm always curious what effect on famous artists of the locality where they grew up. About the photos This image is from the portfolio of Aidan O'Rourke photographer writer website publisher.
