The steeple of the church by the M602 roundabout remains a landmark in Salford, though the building has gone and all around it has changed. It stood at the junction of Trafford Road, Cross Lane and Regent Road, once a busy crossroads with traffic lights, shops and trams. Today it is seen by thousands of drivers every day using the M602 motorway and connecting roads. Today it stands by Salford's busiest highway intersection, a silent monument to the past. To see how this area looked until around the 1960s, visit the Salford Local History Library. More info at www.salford.gov.uk.
