Rutland Water is a vast artificial lake created in the 1970's to supply water to the cities of the East Mdlands. It is situated in the centre of Rutland, England's smallest county. Extending into the water from the west is a peninsula on which is situated the village of Hambleton. Around the lake are nature reserves, cycle paths, visitors centres and a sailing club. We are looking from the north western shore towards the Hambleton Peninsula. Check out this location on Multimap.com

Water levels were quite low on the day we visited, Tuesday 4 November 2003.
