Liverpool Speke Hall National Trust property

The south facade of Speke Hall looks out over the lawn darkened by the shadows of the trees on this late October day. The medieval half-timbered house is a National Trust property. It is situated next to Liverpool Airport.

On the local TV magazine programme in the 1960's I remember a song written and performed by schoolchildren with the words: "And the planes do roar all over the grounds of old Speke Hall..." Please note this photo is not available as a print or high resolution file.
