Image title: Classic 'Mancunian' bus on Shude Hill

A classic bus of the type 'Mancunian' which was a familiar sight in Manchester from the late 60s to mid 70s. This restored example dates from 1969 and belongs to the Museum of Transport. It was in use again ferrying passengers between the city centre and the Museum of Transport Saturday 25 March 2006 on the Museum's first spring event.

The restored Mancunian bus is like a time machine, taking me back to my early years at Xaverian College Grammar School, when I often rode Mancunians on the 53 route.
