M60 motorway Stockport viaduct and Virgin train

The M60 formerly M63 motorway, opened 1986 passes through the arches of the brick railway viaduct, built 1842. The viewpoint is the bridge carrying Wellington Rd North looking west. The Pyramid building, offices of the Co-op Bank can be seen about half a mile ahead.

This image was used in a presentation by Hyder Consulting, in the M60 book and in the Radio Times magazine, edition published around 30 May 2005.
