Even in internet era, many aspects of the streetscape remain unchanged. Telephone lines continue to be strung between homes and telegraph poles. The thin wires radiating out to the neighbouring houses is a familiar sight. The older style mid-20th century street lamp hasn't yet been replaced by a less attractive newer one. I lived in Cheadle Heath until age 18.
