State of the art portable computer, when launched, the only one with a 17 inch screen (1280 x 854 pixels). Titanium bodied and just one inch thick it has a G4 processor of 1 Ghz, actually much faster than the equivalent clock speed on a PC. The built in combi-drive plays and records CDs and DVDs. Uses the ground-breaking Mac OS X operating system. Purchased April 2003.

Hailed as the ultimate portable computer this is marvellous machine to use and an essential piece of equipment for professional use. Minor drawbacks include a tendency to heat up, and the titanium body's susceptibility to dents. OS X is a stable, intuitive and visually appealing operating system. Minor bugs and errors of early versions now now been mostly resolved.
