The original iBook was the portable version of Apple's revolutionary iMac, with a body made of white and translucent blue plastic. Aimed at consumers, especially students, it combined usability, portability and low price. Screen size 800x600 pixels. It was superseded by later iBook of plainer and more compact design.

I still prefer the feel and appearance of the old iBook to even the Powerbook G4 I'm using now. The old iBook is robust, reliable and continued to attract admiring looks long after its design had been superseded. It doesn't overheat and its smooth curved plastic surface is great to rest hands and wrists on. I still occasionally use it for inputting text and my 3 year old daughter plays games on it.
