A sign in Runcorn, Borough of Halton, advertises improvements in the borough which have been carried out thanks to the SRB or Single Regeneration Budget project.
Single Regeneration Budget is money given by the UK's central government to bring about regeneration in deprived areas. The ad sends a positive message through the use of an upwardly mobile arrow and brightly coloured balloons with the words: "New Prom New Bus Station New College New Housing New Access Road New Arts Centre New Town Improvements". Halton comprises the town of Widnes on the northern, Lancashire* side of the Mersey with Runcorn on the southern, Cheshire* side. Both towns are linked by the Runcorn Widnes Bridge.
