The Reichstag at dawn 1992

The Reichstag is one of the most potent symbols of German nationhood. This is how it looked during 1992 before the construction of the dome designed by Sir Norman Foster.

It's not long before sunrise and the sky to the east is getting brighter. The floodlights illuminating the facade will soon go off. Now that Sir Norman Foster's glass dome has become so familiar, the Reichstag looks curiously incomplete without it.
