Image title: 'Amity' painting by Bernard Fleetwood-Walker

'Amity' is a painting by Birmingham-born artist Bernard Fleetwood-Walker (1893-1965). It depicts a young couple in a pastoral setting.

I was captivated by this painting when I first saw it, particularly because of the poise, complex composition and air of sensuality. It is both modern and traditional and looks just as fresh today as if painted yesterday. But as with all paintings, you have to see the real thing to appreciate it fully.
