This terraced house on Mount Pleasant Square North, situated in the south Dublin suburb of Ranelagh, was on sale in mid-2007 for the reduced price of 2,350,000 euro - that's 3,140,000 US dollars, 1,597,000 pounds sterling or 382,519,755 Japanese yen. I visited Mount Pleasant Square as part of a walking tour organised by the Irish Georgian Society. The square dates from the early 19th century and was built by a private developer. The houses are similar in style to those on Merrion Square, but much smaller. The price of this beautiful, historic but small house reflects the hugely inflated cost of property in Dublin.
