We are looking from the roundabout where the A50 crosses the M6 motorway in north Cheshire, to the south east of Warrington. In the distance can be seen the twinkling red lights of the Winter Hill transmitter, situated in the West Pennine Moors north west of Bolton. The motorway sweeps along in a gentle curve towards the right, leading to the Thelwall Viaduct where the motorway crosses from Cheshire into Lancashire. This section of the M6 passes through the east of the Borough of Warrington.
