Chorley Police Station 1960s style modern architecture

Chorley Police Station is an example of a style of modern architecture dubbed 'brutalist' due to its concrete exterior, rectangular outline and jutting floors. Next to it on the right are the Magistrates Courts.

The Lancashire Constabulary website is at www.lancashire.police.uk/

Chorley Police Station might have made a good location in the series Life on Mars. Chorley Police Station is used by the (post-1974) Lancashire Constabulary and is situated just off the line of the old A6. Not many photographers would bother to take a photo of an 'eyesore' like this, but I have a special interest in modern architecture, and feel compelled to document these unloved buildings.
