Berlin Altes Museum at dusk

The Altes Museum - 'Old Museum' is one of the institutions on the 'Museums island' in the middle of the historic centre of Berlin - Berlin-Mitte, formerly part of East Berlin.

We are looking towards the entrance to the museum, the coloured lights of which are reflected in pools of water in the foreground. The museum was built from 1825 to 1828 and designed by architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel. The red neon sign is an installation by Maurizio Nannucci. It states: 'ALL ART HAS BEEN CONTEMPORARY'.
