London Thamesmead: The Naked House

The Naked House is a showhouse built by Gallions Housing Association. It serves as an example of how ecological principles can easily be built into the design of new homes without costing a lot of money. Eco-features include use of timber in walls and window frames, solar panels on the roof, harvesting of rainwater and a glass-fronted sunspace at the front.

The house makes eco-friendly design principles fun, attractive and inspiring. I'd love to live in a house like this. Pictured here at dusk it looks especially inviting. Photo one of set commissioned by the British Council for feature on Sustainable Housing, Issue 3 of UKinfocus
