West 34th Street seen from the corner of 8th Avenue looking east towards the centre of Manhattan. On the right is the YMCA Sloane House, and further up the street on the left, the New Yorker Hotel, which at this time was owned by the Moonies sect.

I worked at the New York Student Center, Sloane House YMCA from June to September 1981. Manager at the time was Arthur Yarish. This is the first image scanned on the new Nikon Super Coolscan 50 ED film scanner, delivered 20 April 2004. It's 9 years since I purchased and started using my first film scanner, the Nikon Coolscan.
