The Coconut Palace is one of a string of buildings instigated by former Philippines First Lady Imelda Marcos. It is situated in the are of reclaimed land behind the Cultural Center of the Philppines, another of her projects. The building is in a native style with elements echoing Filipino culture and places. The whole palace celebrates the coconut in various ways and was intended to be a venue for major events, where VIPs could stay also.
