Film made and set in East Germany in 1979 about a cabaret singer's life, loves and personal development. Main character Sunny played by Renate Krössner, directed by Konrad Wolf and screenplay by Wolfgang Kohlhaase. Made by DEFA, the GDR state film company.

A remarkable film when I first saw it in West Berlin in 1979, due to its relaxed and realistic portrayal of life in the GDR. Many atmospheric moments enhanced with music by Günther Fischer, who left East Germany to write music for tv and films in West Germany and the US.
