London Imperial College Business School

The Imperial College Business School main entrance on Exhibition Road London SW7 was designed by Foster and Partners, the design studio of Sir Norman Foster. The building was financed by a 25 million pound donation from Dr Gary Tanaka, who studied at Imperial College London. It was opened by the Queen on 24 June 2004. It was previously known as the Tanaka Business school and changed to Imperal College Business School with effect from 1 October 2008. Website address: www.imperial.ac.uk/business-school

I knew nothing about the building but whilst driving down Exhibition Road I was immediately taken by the striking exterior with its rectangular lines, and the interesting way it had been added onto an existing modern building of plain design. Sir Norman Foster was born on 1 June 1935 and brought up in Levenshulme, Manchester.
