Glendalough Upper Lake, Co Wicklow Ireland and Lake Peris, Gwynedd / Caernarvonshire North Wales placed side by side.

There are many trans-Celtic echoes between Glendalough and Llyn Peris, near Llanberis. Both are lakes set in mountainous landscapes. Both are religious sites with two lakes, where a saint lived and taught: St Kevin at Glendalough and St Peris at Llanberis. Glendalough means literally 'Glen with two lakes', Llanberis means 'Church of (St) Peris'.
