Standing in West Berlin on the empty Potsdamer Platz looking at the Berlin Wall December 1982. The graffiti here features a black-painted background with white ladders, a figure holding up his hands in distreess, and the words 'in zone'. In reverse is written 'Hilfe Afghanistan' (Hilfe=help). The white building in the centre is on Stresemannstrasse in West Berlin. The Wall makes a left turn to the right of the picture. Seven years after this photo was taken, the Wall was scaled by real ladders as people celebrated the downfall of the Berlin Wall.
