The Barton Bridge carries the M60 (former M63 and M62) over the Manchester Ship Canal. It was one of the first motorway bridges to be built in the UK, and carried what was originally designated the M62, the first section of urban motorway in the country. Viewpoint is the car park at Macro cash and carry. The bridge was later widened. It offers amazing views over Manchester and the North West, though it's easier to admire them when someone else is driving. The bridge is often clogged with traffic, though the Ship Canal below currently has few ships travelling along it.
