Central Station & city centre skyline 1982

View towards Manchester Central Station and city centre. Our viewpoint is the disused railway viaduct to the south west of Central Station which was closed in 1969. The year is 1982.

Ten years later Metrolink trams started using the former railway line where I took this photo. and Manchester Central Station had become GMEX exhibitions centre. This is one of the few pre-1996 photos I have of Manchester.
