Manchester United Busby Babes banner

This banner was put up at the Manchester United stadium, Old Trafford, to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the Munich air disaster in 1958.

This is an impressive photo showing the team shortly before the disaster. It was originally black and white and has been colorized. It is reproduced at large size using contemporary banner printing technology. The night before this photo was taken, someone threw paint at the logo of Manchester United sponsors AIG. Workmen had just finished cleaning it off when I took the photo.
