Trains on the East Lancashire Railway pass at Ramsbottom Station, which is about half way between Bury and Rawtenstall. The engine on the right is hauling a passenger train to Rawtenstall. It's a British Railwahys Standard Class 4 mixed traffic engine built from 1951 onwards. The coach is a BR Mark 1 built from 1950 onwards in the carmine and cream livery - colloquially known as 'blood and custard' - which was discontinued as it had a tendency to fade. Visiting the East Lancs Railway is like a trip back in time. This scene is virtually free of modern elements. I removed the cone-shaped filter on the factory chimney using Photoshop.
