Looking from the stern of the Irish Sea Express fast ferry from Dublin to Liverpool. Some jetski riders have crossed into the wake of the craft as it makes its way up the Mersey. Wind turbines punctuate the sky, with the gantries of the Bootle Docks behind. At industrial locations by the sea, wind turbines can be an attractive addition to the skyline. In scenic locations such as the Lake District where tourism is important, wind turbines can be visually intrusive and consequently damaging to the local economy.
