The clock tower of Rochdale town hall bears a passing resemblance to Manchester town hall clock tower.

Rochdale town hall was completed in 1871 and was designed by W H Crossland. The original clock tower was burnt down in 1883 and replaced by a shorter one designed by Alfred Waterhouse, architect of Manchester town hall.
