The site of the mixed-use development Piccadilly Place is bisected by the Metrolink tram line. Here a tram makes its way towards Aytoun Street after leaving Piccadilly Station a few moments before.

Viewpoint is the traffic lights on Aytoun Street. Piccadilly Station can be seen through the gap between the two buildings. This area was an under-used though attractive open space for many years. Prior to that the lower part of the site was a canal basin that was later filled in.
