This is Grey Street off Hyde Road, West Gorton, seen against a dusk sky with the street lights on. This bridge carries the main railway line south from Piccadilly. LIke many railway bridges, it's possible to see the development of the railway by looking at the way the bridge has been successively expanded. Why did I take this photo? I find old railway bridges fascinating. This scene seems to capture a sense of the old Manchester. Some might consider this to be an ugly and unphotogenic scene, but to me it's full of interest and atmosphere.
