Runcorn Widnes Bridge is seen here rising above houses to the west of Runcorn town centre. The bridge links Runcorn on the Cheshire side of the Mersey with Widnes on the Lancashire side. Both towns are now united within the Borough of Halton. On local signs the bridge is referred to as 'The Bridge'. It was completed in 1961 and is now showing signs of its age. A new bridge across the Mersey is proposed.
