Film-maker Elliott Bristow poses next to the split screen camper van which was written off after being in collision with a large buck (male deer) on Interstate 80 in Ohio, 1970.

The front of the van was crushed beyond repair, but the spare tyre cushioned the impact. Elliott is in the 'hippie' style of the day, with dark glasses, long hair, beard, moustache, denims and boots.
